Experience

I have worked in my field as an independent contractor since 2002, developing projects ranging from Web, to corporate identity, to print. I have worked with companies both large and small, and local and national. Throughout this time, I have also worked as a Web Designer for a few companies in the Orlando area, but have been the full-time owner and operator of Medianomaly since March of 2007.

While studying at Valencia, I held a part-time job at Growth Technologies (GTI) (their site was one of my first commercial projects). My tasks included Web design, Flash development, logo design, and print design. During my tenure I learned to appreciate the intricacies of the client meeting, the value of learning on one's own, and the art of the all-nighter. I also appreciated the opportunity to gain real-world experience while going to school.

After graduation I was hired at WebSolvers, where I was lead designer for 3 years. While GTI was a very small company, WebSolvers was my first experience working with a team of other Web professionals, all of whom knowing much more than me. I grew more in the first 6 months alone than I thought possible, and the volume of work allowed me to learn to design and code quickly and efficiently without compromising quality.

I departed WebSolvers with the desire to gain some experience working at a full-service agency, and subsequently was hired at Metropolis Advertising as an art director. Metropolis afforded me insight into the process behind creating complete campaigns and identities, and how to carry a consistent message through various types of media. The relative creative freedom I was given allowed me to complete was I feel is some of my strongest work to date. Although my tenure was short, we parted on excellent terms and I continued working on projects for them as an independent contractor.
